Summer 2015 sure came and went quickly! It seems like just yesterday that we had another successful end-of-the-year Banquet.

The KSGS team has been hard at work this summer, getting ready for a new school year! The department has quite a few new undergraduate students, as well as graduate students, and we can't wait to meet everyone. But, guess what more students means?! It's that time of year for the undergrad vs. grad competetions to begin! Last year, we had undergrad vs. grad paintball at Intense Paintball in Akron, and undergrad vs. grad bowling. There is a trophy for the winners of the bowling event, and bruises for the losers of the paintball event. Of course, this is all in fun and allows friendships to be made, as well as camaraderie between the students. Come to our first meeting of the semester, Thursday, September 24 starting at 5:00pm in room 234 of McGilvrey! You just might find out what fun grad vs. undergrad event we have hidden up our sleeves!!

While you are waiting for September 24th to roll around, be sure to swing by the Annual Picnic that KSGS hosts for the geology department. That is being held on Friday, September 18 from 5:00-7:00pm in Shelter House #2 at Plum Creek Park. This is a potluck, so be sure to bring a side dish or dessert to share so there is enough food for everyone! KSGS will supply hamburgers/hotdogs/plates/utensils/drinks. This event is welcome to everyone! Professors, graduate students, undergraduates, friends, family, significant others, your favorite pet. Anyone and everyone is welcome!

Check back on our blog for more updates on the happenings in KSGS. Thanks for stopping by!
